Is it possible to lose weight with your existing lifestyle and food habits and answer is surprisingly yes.

Yes, it is possible to lose weight without doing any additional workout and giving up your favorite foods.

Food is like a fuel for our body's that provide energy for day-to-day activity. Excess food or food with lesser energy component are responsible for weight gain as these food deposit in our body in the form of fat. It is a very big myth that walking or exercise everyday helps to control the weight it does, but contribution is not very significant, however control of food intake does wonder. Reason for this is very simple, 5km running burns 300-400 calories while a normal cup of tea with milk and sugar will give around 100 calories and normally people drink 3-4 cups of tea every day. I don't mean that exercise or running is useless however physical activity, workout are essential part of healthy lifestyle as it increases stamina immunity because it makes blood flow to every part of body. 



So, it is very important to cut the calories so that accumulation of fat stops. The cutdown of junk/unhealthy food and including healthy food is one of the most difficult tasks for majority of people. It is often observed that person who took up dieting got frustrated after some time, give up dieting and ate more to make up for dieting days and it is very tough for the common people to control the tastebuds for a long.

I also unsuccessfully tried dieting many times and one day I came across a video on social media which recommended fasting once in a week in place of dieting all the days, and this idea clicked to me and decided to implement, initially it was difficult but later on I get used to it. Weekly fasting cuts almost all the excess calories consumed in the week, and you start losing weight slowly but certainly (I shed 6 kilos in a year) while you enjoy your favorite food in rest of the days.

While fasting show excellent results but slowly, and this process can be accelerated by very small change in your habit of eating meals. If you can a chew every bite of your meal until it is become the pulp in your mouth and then swallow it. This habit is very simple in saying but hard in implementation, yield an excellent result in losing weight. As food preprocessing take place before it goes to intestine, increases the food absorbability due to its pulp form and reduces the urge of food in long run, or your dieting starts naturally. But it is not very simple because of time limitation of lunch at workplace, but it should be adopted whenever possible like when you are having meals at home (Breakfast and dinner). I can definitely say from my experience that even junk food like pizza if chewed properly get digested very easily. Additional benefit of chewing your meal for longer time increase face muscle activity which reduces the bloating of face due aging or obesity. Chewing every bite of meal also increase the blood supply to brain and make it more active.

Some very simple and small steps can be followed to fasten your weight loss journey,

  • Have fast once in a week and fix one or two cheat days on which you can eat whatever you wish but maintain a balance diet on time for rest of four or five days.

  • Include fruits in your diet between the meals as fruits not only reduce the urge for snacks or tea between breakfast-lunch or post lunch hunger but also supply essential nutrients like multi-vitamins and minerals (Calcium, Iron, Zinc etc.)
